Brough Astronomy was open for safe viewing of the partial eclipse (around 90% coverage of the sun) from 6 pm (until late!) on Wednesday August 12th. Eclipse maximum was at 7:15 pm, while the eclipse started at 6:15 pm and ended just after 8 pm
We had certified (safe) solar glasses available, and eleven solar telescopes were operating for viewing.
!! Remember - never look at the sun directly !!

A live image from a camera on the main telescope was projected onto the wall inside the observatory (left hand image) while oustide upwards of a thousand visitors were able to use the safe solar glasses and view either through one of several solar telescopes or see images on phones and tablets from half a dozen smart telescopes.
